About Us!
We have been "together" most of our lives.
Having always had a reverence for nature, we are avid hikers and photographers. We always dreamed of living in the mountains so we purchased a piece of property that borders the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
This is where we have built our home and business.
Our Business
Like many small businesses, ours started out sorta by "accident"! Randy has always had a love for working with wood. I have been his helper. I am the designer/dreamer/planner of our family and have always been into some sort of craft. I got into stained glass at the urging of a dear friend. (Thank you Judi :-) Having always had a fascination with the art of stained glass. I applied my years of drawing, designing and painting to a new medium. Photography was my first art form. My love of capturing "moments" in our lives came from my Dad who was never without a camera close at hand.
Randy on the other hand started wood turning as a "stress reliever" from a hectic job. He has a real eye for the beauty of a piece of wood and uses this talent to bring out the best in the raw materials. He has crafted everything from pen and pencil sets to custom cabinets and of course he frames my stained glass when it is required.
The business sprang to life after we gave a gift of a piece of stained glass that we framed to some friends who own a shop in the craft community of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. They asked us to start supplying them with some of our pieces of work. Well, they sold!! And with the unwavering faith of such friendships and belief in our God given talents, AutumnView Studio came to be.
We are proud members of Smoky Mountain Wood Turners, the American Association of Wood Turners, Professional Photographers of America and the Foothills Craft Guild.
